Study your a55 off and get as close to 4.0s as you can and you'll be fine for getting in just about anywhere, I think. Screwing up and then proving yourself can actually look kinda good, and setting a record in the pole vaulting will look great, too. You may have a chance to get into schools with good track & field teams.

I have the honor OF being chosen as December'S student of the month for the Moraine Rotary Club THIS YEAR. I have contributed over 200 hours of community service to Miami Valley Hospital. I TAKE great pride in serving my community and always have. My activities include THINGS such as BUT NOT LIMITED TO Pirates Encouraging Peace, Cultural Celebration, Mission Trips, Drama Club, Students against Destructive Decisions, Senior Citizens Group, Soles for Souls, AND Homecoming and Prom Committee. I am also proud to be a part of “WCHS” which is our "We Can Help Serve" committee making sure that West Carrollton Senior High School is giving back to our community. I plan on staying an active member in the community whereEVER I go to college because I am a firm believer that it only takes a little effort TO making our world a better place.



A divorce that separated my parents, freshman year of high school, resulted in a serious amount of stress and lack of hope. My attendance and grades REGRETTABLY show that school took a back seat in the beginning of my high school career. If I had the chance I honestly would redo everything, but the past is in the past. I will have to live with my decisions. This tragedy will retrospect my inspiring dreams in the future. At the young age of fourteen I had to pick up a part time job to help financially support us, as my single mother could not. I hope my decisions from the past will not render my admittance to your university. Thank you for your time, it is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you are well rounded and should keep on track with what you're doing. It's always good to continually assess your progress and try to improve yourself. As long as you do that, you're making a conscious effort. When the time comes, apply to your top three and consider community college as a Plan B for your freshman year.

You can always transfer to a university after 1-2 years of working hard at a community college--and saving a TON of money in the process. I recommend community college to everyone because it provides the same great education at a fraction of the price, and without the party atmosphere to distract you from your studies. Plus, the class sizes are often smaller, which translates to a better learning experience. Think about it. And then when you transfer to the university, they don't usually require SAT scores; they go by your transfer GPA from the college.
