Will I be able to get into Columbia University in New York?We Answered:
As you probably know, admission rates at Columbia are very competitive (9.82% last year). Many people with excellent academic records are still rejected. Based on the limited information you've given here, it seems like you have a chance at admission, but there are no guarantees. Some factors that also play a factor: geographical distribution of applicants (if you're from an underrepresented area, your chances would be better), racial diversity (if you're from an underrepresented minority, your chances would be better), etc.

In spite of the poor economy is ur day hectic. Do u wish there were 30 hour days?We Answered:
He used to read the funnies to me every sunday. That was what Iliked him for the most.
Yes, i have had a rather hectic day. I was up by noon due to a knock
on the door. By 2 pm I went to breakfast. At 6 pm I took a walk
bought a newspaper and had dinner at 7. Got home and made 3 or 4
phone calls, fired up answers. I am hoping I can find time to
read the paper before retiring. I can see why you want longer days!

Help with going to my dream college (Columbia University, for the Journalism program)? We Answered:
Try to take as much AP classes between now and junior year. Take as much honors and AP classes that you have available at your school to maximize your GPA. You'll be applying in your senior year, so do worthwhile things before that. You must achieve all A's; Columbia is extremely competitive and even one B may hurt you. SAT should be around 2100 or higher; 2200+ is ideal(considering this is around 98th percentile, this is quite tough). In addition to participation in many clubs and volunteer opportunities, do something big. Start your own newspaper or write big stories that could be syndicated. Since you're planning on doing a journalism major, this is right up your alley and could be the remarkable thing needed in your transcript. Good luck, you're going to be super busy and potentially have no life for the next few years, but I guess it's worth it. :)Alexander Said:

American EMT standards are different, and so is some of the equipment....in fact the American and Canadian standards are a little bit different. But being that you would have training and experience, that would look great on your resumeGloria Said:
Do I have any sincere chance at attending an Ivy League University? We Answered:
Sorry, but no. Not even for Dartmouth or Cornell. Getting into an Ivy League is not easy, even a majority of the AP-loaded applicants with a hundred extra cirriculars are turned down. You need to do something they deem as extra special, there's no formula for getting into an Ivy League school. But there's no reason you can't attend some other college. It doesn't have to be a community college, either. Syracuse and Penn State are pretty good schools, but it's tough to even get into there if we're talking locally. But don't think for a second that going to a Penn State or a Michigan means you had to settle for a "crap school" or anything.
