Mike Said:

I would like to pursue a career in medicine, does Miami University (Oxford) provide a good medical program?

We Answered:

I have never really heard much about there medical programs but if you are going for that I know Wright State has a decent program and they are in Ohio as well. I.U.P.U.I has a really good program and even a medical school for graduates but they are based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. Miami has a gorgeous campus though if you have never been there.

Quick revision for English Native speakers?

We Answered:

You write very well and clearly. I didn't see any major problems in the first three paragraphs, but there are some in the fourth and fifth.

Here are my suggestions. (I wasn't sure what you meant by "like a lot of Canadians, he had a brilliant career... but died tragically. You might want to rework that sentence.)

One last thing: Thank you for your service in Afghanistan!

Not surprisingly, this popular Canadian chain was founded by Miles Gilbert "Tim" Horton, a four time Stanley Cup Champion. Like a lot of Canadians, he had a brilliant career, opened this successful doughnut joint, but then tragically died in a car accident. His family ended up selling their shares to his investor for a pittance, compared to the value of the empire nowadays. The only reminder of Miles Gilbert "Tim" Horton is that the company still promotes young hockey talents in the Timbits Minor Hockey league.

The Tim Horton’s outlet I remember with the most fondness is definitely the one on the Kandahar military base. It was there for six of my eight months of duty, and what a difference it made to morale! I was told they served more that 1,300 customers per day and I have no problem believing it. In the morning, getting a coffee could take as long as 15 minutes, in spite of the lightning speed of the employees. In fact, the delay for the coffee always depended on the composition of the line of customers. Canadians usually were in and out as if they were on a conveyor belt, carrying heaps of coffee cups — sometimes three trays high! Soldiers of other nationalities were puzzled by the lingo and had long chats with the Tim’s employees before they picked up on the meaning of "regular" or "double-double". This last term has so much permeated the lexicon of Canadians it is even an entry in the second edition of the Canadian Oxford Dictionary. After learning this word, foreigners would ask Canadians in line if we had other peculiar words, and I remember there was an odd — and brief — revival of the expression "Chimo! " in the first months of the opening of KAF’s Tim Horton’s. While Canadians stuck with coffee (or Iced Caps when the temperature pushed over 140F), the Brits and Dutch indulged their sweet tooth with cappucinos and hot chocolate and the Americans invariably sampled the doughnuts. Most Canadians waiting would usually smile; we knew we weren’t in line only for coffee, but for a taste of home.

graduate who needs to find a job?

We Answered:

In my opinion try to look for big companies that do graduate recruitment. Have you ever though what field you want to get into? If you know what position you would like to gain and which company to aim for, finding a job would be easier. Otherwise look in the local newspaper, google some jobs in your location, Cold call the company you particularly interested in just to ask them whether or not they are recruiting people from your educational background, ring up job agencies and ask your friends around. sometimes connection can get you into the door faster. Good luck and have fun out there

30yr old looking for a night course in nvq level 2 mechanics in oxford?

We Answered:

Don't worry about the NVQ part, most colleges offer it, its the night courses you will struggle to find as they like to come out to see you in your working environment. A day course would be your best option, and as you are skilled already should be a breeze so could possibly do a morning or afternoon course, i did. Speak to the college tutors to see what they can arrange for you, they are usually quite flexible.
I did a quick search for you but not sure on your area, have a look down the list and give them a call to see what they can offer
