Why does picking a career have to be so hard?We Answered:
Google:Top 20 best paying college degrees and choose one of them.
Be fearful - very fearful of following your dreams.
Realize that there are millions of other people out there that also love photography, art, music, and cooking.
There is no demand for these "hobbies", you'll never be able to afford anything.

How important is picking a career/major?We Answered:
it is very important to pick your career choices wisely.I personally dont believe in choosing careers based on its income. Whatever you choose, you should be able to do it very well and Enjoy doing it,because you can have the most amount of money in the world and still not be happy. You should also try not to choose your career based on your friend's choice, because you want to be close to her;maybe that same choice, could put you back and put her forward due to unforeseen circumstances.Claudia Said:
How can I move forward with picking a career? We Answered:
Go and do what you like to do, until you had enough of it. Then do something else. Take a course in 'abcdefg' and she how that feels. and if by 30, 20 jobs later you still don't know, you are the one with the most experience.Peace.
P.S. 2 of my kids did, 9 and 7 years respectively, both are in a job they LOVE!!!

How does one go about picking a career? We Answered:
Well, I think you are off to a good start as you know what you are interested in doing. There are a few things now to consider:1) Find some people in those professions and arrange work experience with them so you can get an idea as to what each job is about. Your school may be able to help arrange this.
2) Contact TAFE in your area and see if they can provide you with any info.
3) REALLY think about what you can picture yourself doing day in and day out for the rest of your life! Think about what you you would do with your life if you had the choice of doing absolutely anything. Not that you can't change your mind down the track, but wouldn't it be great to find something you love from the beginning of your working life.
(I started my working life - many many moons ago, in Banking and finace. I have been a stay at home mum for 4 and a half years and I have just enrolled in uni to do education! talk about a change...)
Anyway, best of luck to you. And well done you for putting the time into thinking about it!!!
