If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, those are test prep seminars and so on. Those places are a bit of a rip off. They make you think you can't get hired without going through them.

You don't have to pay anything to take the USPS tests, get info on it, etc etc. You can however purchase test prep books at a book store, B Daltons, Waldenbooks, but it's not required.

The reason they would want you to go too Oklahoma is because the USPS training facilities are located in Norman OK. If you are hired, they will pay your expenses. Actually you pay for it yourself, and then are reimbursed.

You need to call your local post office and ask about it. They should be able to help you.
