If this is your passion, then go for it. If you like doing this sort of thing you will be successful. But, - here is the caveat - technology changes so rapidly, you need to be on your guard to make sure that you do not get trapped in a dying technology. It can happen very fast and maybe without you realizing it! Think of manufacturers that were high tech a few years ago making 3.5 inch data disk that replaced the 5.25 in floppy disk. They were making tons of money until CD roms became a standard on computers. Then 3.5 inch went the way of the dinosaur. So stay on top of your game and make sure you do not let technology change on you.

Career planning is a deliberate process of knowing WHO we are so that we can be sure WHERE we want to go or WHAT we want to be at some defined point in the future. It involves an analysis of career/job options that are new to you. Career analysis is based on accurate, valid and timely information from --- reading, interviewing primary resources persons and direct observation of those persons while doing their job.

Job Hunters Bible - My favorite. I have taught their system to hundreds of people with great results. Richard N. Bolles, America's dean of Career Consultants, heads the company and is also the author of the book, 'What Color Is Your Parachute.' This book should be available in your library.
