Edgar Said:
Is my current plan for a career in medicine plausible? (involves Army PA program)? We Answered:
No you cannot be guaranteed PA school. You can apply for the PA program out of ROTC, but you will incur a 4 year service obligation, in addition to your ROTC service obligation.
IE: 3 years for ROTC + 4 years for the PA Program = 7 years on active duty
To get into med school, you will need a great GPA and a great MCAT SCORE.
Being a PA is not gonna help.
A link to the Army PA program is below.
It has links for the requirements to apply from the reserves, from ROTC and from active duty.
But there are no guarantees, you have to apply and compete against the other applicants.

UCF FSU UF U-MICH (ANN ARBOR) USF UNF?We Answered:
You definitely won't get into U-Mich, they are just as competitive as the Ivy's and by far the best university on your list ranked 27th on U.S news. You probably have a shot at all of the other schools. If you;re a Florida resident, the University of Florida would be by far your best choice. They are ranked 47th on U.S news, and if you want to get into a good graduate school, it would be a lot easier if you went to a ranked school. Check out this site for a complete list.http://www.usnews.com/sections/education…

2.9 GPA, halfway through JUNIOR year, need it to raise it to 3.4 or 3.5 to get into Florida Universities? We Answered:
You didn't give us enough information to answer the question, so we'll have to make some assumptions. Let's assume you take 6 classes every semester and they are all worth the same number of credits. Let's assume you'll get nothing but A's from now on. Let's assume you'll apply to college in the fall of senior year, so you only have one semester left to raise your grades. Let's assume you re-take three classes replacing 2 D's with 2 A's and you take 3 online classes and get A's in them (unlikely, since this would mean you'd be taking almost twice as many classes next semester as you normally do).(2.9 * 5 * 6 - 1.0 * 2 + 4.0 * 1 * 11) / (5 * 6 - 2 + 1 * 11) = 3.31
That's your previous semesters minus the D's plus 11 courses and all A's next semester. Best case scenario, your highest GPA would be 3.31 when applying to colleges.

Can I get into University of Central Florida? We Answered:
just get all A and do extra credit.Juanita Said:
What are my chances of getting into UF?We Answered:
Your GPA is great, although your SAT may harm you. You seem like a pretty good kid, not like I can tell but it helps with rec letters, but being from Florida and many other factors I think you have at least a 75% chance! I have a few friends who go there and you seem to be stronger than they were. Writing for the paper is huge and will help your application process! Good Luck!
