Salvador Said:

Can I make a full-time career out of being an Eclectic Wiccan High Priestess?

We Answered:

I am not aware of ANYONE who makes being a High Priestess a full-time career. There's just not enough of us in any one place. Ministers can often work full time because their congregations number in the hundreds or even the thousands. High Priestesses, however, are most often officiating over a group of less than 13 people. Even large, public groups attract only dozens of people.

Yes, its perfectly normal to charge to officiate at a wedding, but you can't reasonably expect to do that on a regular basis. Again, there's just not enough demand. Weddings are a small part of even Christian ministers' duties.

You don't need to be a High Priestess, or even an Wiccan, to do divination services. Lots of New age stores do such. But I think you'll find that if you just ask for donations, you'll make very little money.

BTW, just because one Wiccan organization declares you a High Priestess doesn't mean that means anything to the Wiccan population at large. The real mark of a High Priestess is what she knows and how she conducts herself, not the fact that she waves a title around. Real High Priestesses do what they do largely because they love it, not as a money maker.
