I'm 25. Why do I feel like I'm behind in my life & need to rush?

We Answered:

You are young enough to not need to worry, as long as you spend your life building towards something.

Maureen Said:

please help me edit this enquiry?

We Answered:

From what I can see it seems spot on, my only criticism would be the capital letter at the start of each word in the "World Wide Web." I know that it abbreviates into WWW and you have written is indeed correct. I just feel that it looks slightly out of place and to some one who doesn't know the abbreviation it might seem like a mistake or unprofessional. Other then that though it's excellent! You could possibly state your level of qualification at University as you have done with your BTEC, eg: "BA (Hons)" I think it would be?

I wish you all the best with your work placement and at University! :)

Sylvia Said:

is this job enquiry good?your views.?

We Answered:

It's a pretty good letter; there are just some minor alterations I've suggested to assist with the flow...........unless you are writing to a specific person you need to sign off "Yours faithfully" not "Yours sincerely"

Dear Sirs
I am writing to enquire about the possibility of obtaining a work placement in the editorial or production department of your organisation.

I first learned about Linn International whilst attending West College. Being aware of my great interest in languages my career adviser suggested that I contact you, as you may have appropriate vacancies available.

I am a British born, Russian speaking young lady, looking for a placement within a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment. I am a fluent speaker of Russian and English, and am currently learning Polish. I have good analytical skills and a proven ability to detect and correct mistakes, so a position involving proof-reading and editing would be ideal. In addition, having completed a BTEC course in Software Development I am highly computer literate and possess a reasonable experience of working with many computer packages, including word-processors and databases, as well as knowledge of the World Wide Web.

I am enrolling to study a degree in “English & Translation” at the University of York. As a major part of my prospective profession will involve languages and translation services, working for your company would be invaluable experience.

Concerning my personal qualities; I am of good conduct and character, a fast learner, a very patient and attentive individual and always work hard to achieve my goals.

I would be most grateful if you could consider me for any suitable positions. I would be available for an interview at your convenience. Please find enclosed my CV where you will find further information.

Yours faithfully,

Bernard Said:

Why can't grad student with work experience find a job in NYC?

We Answered:

Anywhere you go you will have a hard time. Its because of the economy unfortunately. Especially where you are looking its near impossible, and even if you do get a job in one of those places you will most likely get only a few hours a week.

Jeremy Said:

Is being a stock broker the right job for me?

We Answered:

Scottrade is fairly "low" on the chain of stock brokers.

If you want to be a Stock Broker you must;
Be interested in "sales".
Be willing to work long, hard hours.
Take an enormous amount of pressure.
Be a good salesperson (based on boint #1).

Financial counseling could be the next "step" if you don't like being a broker. You could become a manager of a Scottrade office.
