Career Cruising Tests

Angel Said:

Trying to decide what to be when I'm older?

We Answered:

Go to college/university and do those 3 courses and pick which one you actually like.

Sam Said:

Are the admission SAT and ACT scores on Career Cruising updated to fit the new test scores?

We Answered:

I'm guessing that one's out of 1600, because 1010 out of 2400 would be terrible.

Natalie Said:

Can someone give me their school's password for the Career Cruising site?

We Answered:

Ask at your own school for the password.

Carolyn Said:

How many years minimum & maximum to become a principal?!!?

We Answered:

First you get a teacher's certificate, and then become politically astute: jump on any educational bandwagon to please your superintendents, be a PR man. Make sure you have two or three good friends at the Head Office who are willing to sponsor you, and you'll be fast tracked. You don't have to know anything about teaching techniques. All you have to do talk up a good game.

SHould I become a Video Game Programmer?

We Answered:

Go for it, it's a massively increasing market, that is ONLY going to grow in the coming years, get a bit of knowledge and then visit forums and offer your assistance (for free) to some neo teams that start up and get something really small out there.

It may seem like a struggle but just take it step by step, don't expect to create MW2 from the get go (not that MW2 is massively hard to make mind you) - you will get there in the end =)

Sheila Said:

How do I know if this is the job for me?

We Answered:

Unfortunately there's no best answer to this question, just like there is no "best" job for anybody. The next to best thing that you can do however is to just reflect on yourself and who you'd like to be as early as possible. It's a very annoying question I know, but its that's going to be incredibly important later on.

I would definitely say, that you should follow your heart in your career; but since the cost of "higher" education is increasing and the economy is contracting; you should definitely look at the business aspect your choice after you have decided on a vocation. Education can be very tricky because its really expensive and it might seems like it will guarantee you a job, money and then happiness.
But that's not always the case, the best thing is to specialize on what you like... be as honest with yourself as early as possible and stick to that path. Don't let others compromise on your choice, because it might compromising on yourself.
