Career In Testing

Susan Said:

What is a good way to receive career testing or counseling?

We Answered:

At this stage of your life best would be to study what you like most. Follow your natural interests and skills. Whenever you do what you like you are happier and achieve better outcome.

we answered ds career testing in school should i follow it?

We Answered:

The idea of those sorts of things is to present you with some ideas based on what your interests and aptitudes are. So it's likely that whatever is suggested may appeal to you - in which case, fair enough! But do bear in mind that career testing isn't an exact science... some things it suggests just might not appeal to you at all - in which case, don't do them!

I think overall, career testing can be helpful if you aren't sure what path you want to take in life; but it's a tool to help you, not a dictate you have to follow. Above all else, if you aren't sure what you want to do in life, I'd suggest trying to keep your options open a bit, so that you can specialise later on when you know yourself a bit better (i.e. pick some subjects that can be useful in a variety of settings rather than ones which are very specialised). And remember that you're the one who'll be doing the studying, so pick things you'll enjoy and find rewarding.

Enjoy your studies, and good luck finding your path!

Delores Said:

which gives bright career ?testing or developing?

We Answered:

The clue is in the name. Developers are leading the way, creating and evolving ideas. Testers are finding the bugs (and papering over the cracks?) so are very much a second line role.

Both are needed, but one is definitely considered better in career terms.

which gives me brigt career?testing or developing ?

We Answered:

Being a software quality professional, I prefer my own field i.e. Testing ;)

But the reality is, development pays you more than software testing (true for 90% organizations).

As a basic rule in software firms and surveys also says that there is 1 tester against 3 developers. So you can measure the job opportunities ratio.

Its totally up to your interest and academic grip.

Best of luck for your future :-)

Is Automated software testing or manual testing career line good for non programming people?

We Answered:

In order to have a successful testing career, you would need knowledge of both manual testing as well as automated testing.
