Do I have a worthless Bachelor's Degree?We Answered:
No such thing as a worthless degree. There are plenty of jobs out there that only require a degree of some sort...... You may not end up doing what you thought you would, and you may not get a job doing what you'll be doing for the "rest of your life." But, you'll get some experience. And as for that test you took - those are only tools to give you ideas. You should look at it as helping you identify what you might be BEST at, not what you might be the WORST at. In the meantime, contact headhunting firms and temp agencies to see what might be out there for you.....P.S. I'm a vocational counselor, so I should know!

When I was 18 after high school I wanted to work as a machenic and no one would hire me so I wanted to join?We Answered:
you need to do what you want. do not live to make your parents happy. i tired that once, too. but finally i realized i was bloody miserable. do not let your life pass you by because they want to hold you back for their own reasons. if you want to join the military, do it. so long as its not for money, and you believe in what you are doing, do it because it means that much to you. do not do something because your family wants you to. maybe its time away from your family that you need. i say, since you are so close, finish your degree, then find a branch of the military (i'm navy partial myself, but hey... :) ) and find a career you like. they will pay for your training for your job. email if you need to talk.Derrick Said:
What did you major in?We Answered:
I majored in political science as an undergraduate and became a history teacher and a principal/Your major even if pursued is not the beginning and end of your life. You certainly will have other interests which to an extent you can pursue.

What should my Bachelor's degree be?We Answered:
So far you favorite courses are in Psychology with social sciences. You might want to consider anthropology ( the study of cultures). Within anthropology you can study learn how it all ties together. It is actually one of the few fields that combines a variety of course work so it can be broad. In other words, if you are concerned about what others think, it would sound a lot better than a BA in General Studies.
Being Artistic can be interpreted in several ways from writting to coming up with research ideas to being able to think outside the box. Don't get stuck with labels. They are only tools we use to categorize ourselves and build fences.
Investigating and Enterprising go hand in hand. If you like to solve problems you sometimes have to come up with what others may consider new ideas. & Vice versa if you like to start new projects you have to find out what needs to be done so you research.
All these traits are what is needed in any venture you may wish to pursue, but it is something that is essential in anthropology.
By now you might be asking what can I do with a bachelors in Anthropology; the answer is anything. That is the beauty of the degree. You now have a holistic viewpoint of the world. You see how everything ties together. And like water you are fluid enough to adapt and succeed in your new chosen field.
There is a trend now in which anthropological knowledge is being applied to all kinds of problems( schools, management, third world economic development, aids research, community relations programs). Jobs include ;editor, artists, teacher, writer, white house aid, community liason and the list goes on. It really depends on your interests.

You might want to talk to a couselor and not just your immediate friends for advice. Just becasue something doesn't sound "good" to someone doesn't mean this is a universal truth.
Contact other grads that have choosen the fields you have rejected or the ones you are slightly interested in. See what they have to say. You might just be surprise.
Then again, you can always get a double major ..... or a tripple.
