take the ASVAB -- it's a military test (american), but in addition to showing what you'll be best for in the military, it shows you what you'll be best for in general. military careers are translated into civilian careers easily.

i took it as a part of my JROTC program, but i'm sure you could go to a recruiter and take it.

taking the ASVAB in no way signs you up for the military -- i'm a grad student with no military plans! lol.

A good skills assessment test will look at many different aspects such as your personality, interests, aptitude and abilities. These test will often costs anywhere from a few hundred up to a thousand to complete through a private agency. I would first check with your local junior college as they will often offer this type of testing for free or at a reduced rate.
