Career Tests For Teenagers

Kurt Said:

where or what test can a teenager take to choose what career he or she wants to pursue when they get older?

We Answered:

Your guidance department will have career profile exams. Of course the best way to tell is by trying things out and volunteering at different jobs. There is also nothing that says you have to only do one job for the rest of your life. My husband is going back to school now to become a teacher because he found out that he liked being a parent and hanging out with our kids so much. It's a far cry from the historical archivist he once studied to be.

Dawn Said:

Would teaching be a good job for me?

We Answered:

If you don't like kids then I'd suggest staying away from teaching. Teachers are expected to deal with the majority of problems that come up in the classroom on their own, and an office visit is just a last resort. Content area knowledge in a discipline such as literature or history is less than 50% of what it takes to be a good teacher; classroom management and lesson planning are far more important.
