Career Your Personality

Lois Said:

Does your dog reflect your personality or career choice?

We Answered:

Hmmm, let's see! (I'm going to star this question!) Anyway, I have a miniature schnauzer. He is a loyal friend, sometimes a scardy-cat, a bit neurotric, loves to sleep...yup, he's just like me!

Jenny Said:

How much do you think that your career defines your personality........?

We Answered:

Your career is just that, your career. It is not who you are, it does not define you. If you worked twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and did NOTHING else, then sure, of course it would play into who you are. But the time spent on work is just time at work and YOU are the person who comes out once let loose of those four walls. When most people are asked "Who are you?" most answer, "I'm an accountant, a police officer, a nurse, a doctor....." NO. That is your job. That is not who YOU are. I am a believer, a dreamer, a lover, an optimist, fun, honest, passionate, caring, I am a shoulder to cry on for people I love.....I can keep going, but you see the point. You will only become a more boring person if you allow your job to define who you are inside. Sure, some people stereotype, but those are the small minds that surround us, those are the ones who say I am my job.

Julia Said:

Which is more important when choosing a career - your personality or your passion?

We Answered:

It really depends on how you measure success. If you want to find a job that you can climb the corporate ladder with that will give you great monetary awards then something that suits your personality and not necessarily your passion would be better. If you are not driven as much by material things and want a job that you are personally satisfied with and happy to get up for everyday then do what you are passionate about. If you are lucky you can find a job that you are passionate about that suits your personality as well. Good luck!
