Well first of all you have time to really think and decide what it is that you would really love to do . But to answer youre question.There is no reason why you can't do both. Cosmetology /Hairdressing courses can be done in less than one year . Depending on which country you are in Vet school is usually 4 years after 4 years of college . You can become a hairdresser before going to a 4 year college and do this to help earn a living while you are training to be a Vet . There is no reason not to.
Besides if you ever change you're mind about becoming a vet you have a marketable skill ,so at least you can have a decent job doing something you enjoy . This is a win win situation.
Let me give you some advice a hair dresser gave me .
Find something you really want to do , put you're heart to it , really give you're all and don't listen to anyone else ,( meaning don't be swayed by other's opinions) .. but have a plan B.
She owns her own business and has been doing what she loves for years . Best to you .
