Free Career Info

Barry Said:

I need info on a career in free lance photography.?

We Answered:

Click here for information from the Occupational Outlook Handbook: http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos264.htm

"Photographers held about 129,000 jobs in 2004. More than half were self-employed, a much higher proportion than for most occupations. Some self-employed photographers have contracts with advertising agencies, magazine publishers, or other businesses to do individual projects for a set fee, while others operate portrait studios or provide photographs to stock-photo agencies."

Donald Said:

where can i find a free career info website??please?

We Answered:

The most respected source for information on careers and their prospects for the future is the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, (http://www.bls.gov). I have used the valuable information myself to get into a new career that will be in very high demand for some time, so I suggest you use the information on this website as well.

By the way, the best research will always be free, if you are asked to pay it is most likely a scam offering information already available for free on the internet.

Phillip Said:

anyone know how to get free info of cheap classes on office admin w/o going to classes?

We Answered:

Since you actually have office experience already, and limited Word, Excel, etc., you don't necessarily need to go back to school and take lots of classes. It all depends on how good your skills are and your level of expertise with things.

I teach online classes, and get plenty of students who want to update their skills, and so online classes might work for you as well. And there are even "short" training sessions lasting a few hours or a day offered through community colleges that you can take.

My suggestion is to look into community colleges and check out their continuing education classes. Here is where you'll find those short and quick training sessions to update your skills, which will make you more marketable to an employer.
