Career struck... need help...?We Answered:
I'd speak to your school's career counselor and explain your general interests to them. You also have up until sophomore year in college to declare a major, so you have some time to decide. I think it's important to keep researching different fields on the Internet and asking around to find out more about job industries, too. Good luck.Gary Said:
I need help with my current career path please! (*Lost In Life*)?We Answered:
You may be lost but you are not alone. I've been exactly where you are. And the only thing you can do is take a step in one direction - honestly it doesn't matter which direction because it will probably change the second after you take it. Here's my philosophy on life - you can't figure it out in your head, you have to figure it out by living it. And my philosophy on being lost is so long as you stand still, you will remain lost - if you start moving you are moving towards something even if you don't know what it is. Take your best guess, think of what the next step might possibly be, think what would be interesting, and put away your career path plans for now. You can always pick them up again, but you may not want to do that yet because you will have lots of new information once you start moving again. And fyi, the most crippling part of being 'lost' is being afraid to go in the wrong direction - but trust me, even the strangest path will get you somewhere.Rhonda Said:
How do you know what kind of career path to choose from?We Answered:

Should i pay for a detailed career test..and which is the best one if I'm going to pay for it?We Answered:
No, don't pay someone to tell you what to do, I'll tell you what you should do for free. You said you like to act and you want to be an actor, so go back to school and get an MD, JD, MBA, or something that will make you money, but move to a city that is known for acting, like Las Vegas (LVU) Hollywood (UCLA), or Wilmington, NC known as hollywood east (UNCW). Then when you realize that it is extremely hard to get into acting you will still be able to do it, and with your JD or MBA you will at least be very competitive when it comes time to look for a job in the entertainment business. And the MD at the right school will make it so you can live next to C and B list celebrities, probably not A List celebrities, because those doctors are special, and if you were that special you should have gone into acting.Christopher Said:

Think about what you are good at...Can you fix a car?
Do you like to fly?
I'm going to be honest, my cousin was a complete failure in HS and he thought college just wasn't for him. He joined the marines and it totally changed his whole outlook on careers. The service feeds and houses you and pays for almost everything. It might be worth a few years there and you'll get paid a good deal!
