Unless it's from your cousin's school or family, anything worthwhile won't be free. And, if it's a Website that says the test is free, find out what they do with the information your cousin would be giving them before providing them with anything.

If you're in the U.S., I'd start with the local state employment office. They either provide them (paid for by tax payers) or can recommend low cost providers.

There are a lot of excellent, free services from the various state employment offices, including counselling and job postings as well as skill and interest tests. Sometimes you can even find money for training, too.

Actually, been there done that. After getting sometimes conflicting results but no interpretation that fit my situation, I finally started a business that offers 5 vocational tests;
1) personality,
2) preferences compared to "successful" people's preferences,
3) math/english skill levels,
4) job history/experience inventory,
5) and my favorite- a test that compares your skills and preferences to my database of over 12,000 standard job descriptions.
Then we use these results to build a very detailed picture of a few job titles you would most likely be good at, and happy doing.
The results have been amazing. Clients told me they now have concrete reasons for looking for a few particular job positions, instead of feeling like they have to take whatever comes along and just adapt.
To directly answer your question; for excel - Ask for them to send/show you samples of their work. If they don't have any, then give them a sample of yours and ask how they would make it better. For- Personality - wow - Are you asking; Will they get along with people? Do they need heavy direction? Will this person be on time with projects? Are they honest? These are all different. Ask what they like doing, or go with gut feel, but I wouldn't trust a hiring decision on an online test. You may miss the best or hire the worst. I am tacramer@yahoo.com
