I have taken lots of similar personality tests and I keep getting different results. I think that our personalities do change (based on life situations/friends and experiences) and to a certain degree we choose who we want to be and how we will act everyday, so the change in result is fine. :)

Firstly, I'd say that something qualitative like whether or not something or someone is boring is really very subjective. An ISTJ may be boring to a Charlie Sheen and his ilk. So, whether or not an individual or personality type is boring is really subject to the perspective and experiences of the individual making the judgement.

I personally wouldn't draw the conclusion that an ISTJ is boring based on the link provided. Nowhere does it state that an ISTJ is inactive, prone to laziness, closed minded, routine; all traits of a boring person. As a matter of fact the following statement pulled from the personality portrait is exactly how you described yourself, "While they generally take things very seriously, they also usually have an offbeat sense of humor and can be a lot of fun - especially at family or work-related gatherings." That hardly sounds like a boring person.

More quotes: "ISTJs usually have a great sense of space and function, and artistic appreciation. Their homes are likely to be tastefully furnished and immaculately maintained. They are acutely aware of their senses, and want to be in surroundings which fit their need for structure, order, and beauty."

"Under stress, ISTJs may fall into "catastrophe mode", where they see nothing but all of the possibilities of what could go wrong."

Believe me you this certainly doesn't sound like a boring personality - just a highly results oriented one.

In my own opinion, based on my experiences, it is pretty dead on. It not only gives me the same result, from test to test, but it has even taught me things about myself that I had not previously realized, including why my interpersonal relationships and experiences in general are the way they are. It has even taught me how to improve myself in some ways. Honestly, I think it is as accurate as your introspection is. Meaning the more you know yourself, the better it is.

I would trust the personality test, not the stupid ballerina.
