Online Career Counselling Test

Jaime Said:

Is this a dangerous obsession or psychopathy?

We Answered:

It sounds like you are a little bit obsessed with her and the way she behaves. Maybe not seeing her again would be a good idea.

Jerome Said:

Can a positive mental attitude do this?

We Answered:

There is a lot of evidence that positive psychology can be really helpful. Plus it makes you get a more balanced perspective on your life. Many people tend to focus on what goes wrong and forget all the good things that they have done.

Help with career/college path?

We Answered:

Most times, if all your other grades are good, colleges tend to overlook Freshman grades. BUT, all colleges are getting harder and harder to get into, so even things like that, that are usually forgivable, might limit your options. Anyway, never limit yourself to one or a handful of schools. Think about applying to about 10 places, including at least one that you're certain to get into.

Oh, and, if you're looking for something that doesn't involve any science, you might as well forget about medical fields, and even counseling is gonna be a stretch.

By the way, I think the person above me is talking about the Briggs-Myers Test, because Bristol Myers Squibb is a drug company and has nothing to do with personality tests. But anyway, like someone else said, there's no need to decide everything now. Once you get to college, go to the career placement office in your first couple of weeks after you get settled in, and tell them you want to take some tests to help you decide on a career direction. They'll be happy to help, and will administer Briggs-Myers and othertests that might even help you more. Good luck.

How long does it take to earn a psychologist degree?

We Answered:

Ok. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor with extra training in psychiatry, so you would need to actually go to medical school for that. You are looking at 7-9 years before you would be able to practice.

You can get an undergraduate degree in psychology in 4 years, but you won't be able to get a job as a psychologist with a bachelor's, you will need a master's degree. Master's degrees take an additional 2 years of school or so. Same thing if you get a master's in counseling or social work.

You can do it-- I'm way older than you and I just completed my master's degree in counseling.
