Personality Tests For Career Choices

Joel Said:

How can I move on with my life while feeling 'stuck' in career choices?

We Answered:

It's that ole "P" in your isfp that is throwing you. Introverted, feeler, sense oriented, and a 'P' on top.

What you may want to do is take a look at your 'S." What is it that you want. What kinds of things, kind of life, do you really want. Then realistically look at what you have to do to get what you want. "Liking it is not as important as doing it if you are working towards something that you want."

Now, with that said, you also have the ole "F" thing going on which implies that you have a need to be authentic. If you can not do that in the work environment, you will have to find a way to do it outside work. That means fulfilling your other needs with club activities or something else that heps you to get what you really want from life.

Work then becomes a means to an end while you are free after work to be who you really are.

Good Luck!

Alex Said:

Please help me with suggestions for my son's career choices?

We Answered:

Call your local college and see if they administer the Strong Campbell Interest Inventory or another similar tool. Last I heard it cost about $15-$25 and that included them reviewing the results with you and some career counseling.

Teachers always say people are too social. They want everyone to sit down and shut up. Maybe something in social sciences would suit him. Like psychology, social work, teaching. He could pursue art but it is hard to make a living. Let the college help him explore.
