Felicia Said:

Why would a young person's memory get dramatically worse every time they are tested with psychological testing

We Answered:

Why would anyone do repeat testing on someone? That doesn't make any sense. I think the young person is just purposely giving wrong answers because they are bored.

Gwendolyn Said:

Should Yahoo monitors undergo psychological testing in case they lean toward RIGHT WING FASCIST idiotology?

We Answered:

It is human nature to be more aware of restrictions placed on "our side" and less aware of the same restrictions placed on "the other side."

I'm not so sure Yahoo monitors are biased. Maybe they are; I just haven't seen it. I've seen liberal "questions" get yanked & I've seen conservative "questions" get yanked. Same with answers.

I have definatley NOT seen any leaning to the fascist degree! They allow the "Bush is Hilter" type questions. They allow the 9/11 consperacy theory questions. A fascist organization would not allow such vicious critisism of out president.

How to analyse the results of the jessness and the jvis?

We Answered:

I've never heard of either of these. I did a search on jvis and came up with this link: http://www.sigmaassessmentsystems.com/as…
When people ask where to find inventories, I always refer them to two sources: the mental measurement yearbook and google scholar. There have been times in which I wasn't able to find an inventory in the mmy. In those cases, I simply wrote to several authors of a paper, which used the inventories and asked them for 2 things: 1) a copy of the inventory 2) how they scored the inventory. Most are more than willing to comply--especially if they had a hand/are trying to promote the inventory.
As for tips to analyze results, I would first have to know what your hypotheses are. If you are simply trying to compare two groups, conduct a t-test or a one way ANOVA. This can be done in spss, sas or even excel (although I don't know how to do it in excel). If you are trying to correlate scores on either inventory with some other variable or even correlate the two inventories, go to "correlate" in spss and click bivariate. It should give you an r value.

Stanley Said:

Have you taken the "free" e-harmony compatibility test?

We Answered:

My experience with Eharmony:

100% truthful answers - they rejected me, and claim about 20% of people are rejected.

For a little fun, I fudged on my answers (not that much) and passed just to see what they would come up with. NOT even close to anyone I would have considered, i never met anyone they picked out, they were soooo bad. I think it's like all other dating sites, they work for some people but not for the vast majority.

Do psychological symptoms of celiac disease go away with a gluten-free diet?

We Answered:

If they are gluten-related, they will eventually go away with a gluten-free diet.

I had all sorts of psych issues - nightmares and anxiety dreams, insomnia, exhaustion, anxiety, depression, irritability, anger, memory issues, ADD, and what we call "brain fog".

It's pretty common in the celiac / gluten intolerance world.

As far as giving up your favorite foods, there's not much you have to give up. There is a lot you have to >modify<, but not much to give up. I have been gluten-free since Jan 06 and regularly eat gluten free versions of bread, pasta, pizza, cookies, pies, cake, crackers, etc.

To be honest, the difference in my psychological symptoms is so dramatic that it's the psych symptoms that keep me on the straight and narrow with the gluten-free diet. I can handle the GI symptoms. I can handle the mobility issues an body pain (similar to fibromyalgia). But I can't handle the anxiety attacks and nightmares.

I hope you start feeling better soon. I hope to see you on the boards.

Hugs,

Nancy
