I'm not sure what you are so worried about. As someone who reads resumes every day, I'm not even sure what "contract" means on a resume. It can mean different things to different people. If I were interviewing you, I might ask you about the word contract. But I don't see why you think that you lied or would be seen as having lied.

When an agency does this, it's a good thing. Maybe. It means that they're doing their job for you: finding you permanent placement if you want it. If you're happy with no benefits, and no job security, then continue to turn him down. It could mean that they see something about the client's future needs that you don't and are trying to place you somewhere else before the job ends abruptly. Could you function on $0 income if your job ended suddenly, or wait six months without pay while you search for another one?

If you're like the 25% of the population that are not employed right now, and would like to create some stability in your life, then take the time to speak with your agency about upcoming positions. Make sure that the "other" jobs do not pay less than what you're making now, have the hours or shift that you'd prefer to work or better and lastly, are a good fit as far as the type of industry that will challenge you and provide some future professional growth and enrichment.

Don't be a complacent temp. Too many contractors make that mistake and cheat themselves out of good opportunities. You may be "comfortable" for 9 months, and then the client's management decides that they've spent too much money on temps, so they scale back abruptly, leaving the contractors unemployed with no where to go.

Take advantage of the opportunities present, you may not get so many again in the coming year. More jobs are disappearing from the work force.
