California Employment Agencies

Richard Said:

Should I use an employment agency?

We Answered:

An employment agency should NOT CHARGE YOU money. Any fees to be paid should be paid by the employer who will hire you and others. If a place wants money, stay away from them, they will likely rip you off!

Dean Said:

What are background check agencies in CA allowed to ask my previous employers for verification of employment??

We Answered:

The California Fair Credit Reporting Act does not specifically limit the amount of information an employer is allowed to disseminate. It is up to the employer to decide what information they will give to a background screening company. The background screening company is just attempting to gain as much information as they can for their client. If your old employer just tells them that As per our company policy, we do not disclose any further information, it will likely be completed.

Vanessa Said:

Is the economy that bad right now in Orange County, California?

We Answered:

I don't live there, but I do know that you can find out anything you need to know about pay rates for different jobs, How much demand there is for any job you might be interested in, and what the unemployment rates are anywhere in the world, by logging onto Payscale.com. There will be directions from there telling you what to do.

Marie Said:

I want to go to employment agency. Should I tell them the truth that I got terminated from my last job?

We Answered:

the truth is always the best answer...... the unemployment office don't care if you were fired, laid off, or quit...... they are just there to help you gain employment......
on the other hand, the employers they send you to may care if and why you were fired...... they will usually check with your past employer, so if you do write your last employer down, then don't lie about why you left...... i have left some employers after a very short time in the past, and i filled in the gap time of my employment by saying i was self employed and filling all the application information in very believable......

Drug Testing for a California State job?

We Answered:

Hmmm, how to research for a class...

Step one is to contact the states directly. You can't source this random chat, which makes it useless anyway. Don't be so lazy.

Official answer: I live in Colorado where they check your academic record rather than fooling with testing at all.

Lillie Said:

How many people have been laid off in the last 4 months?

We Answered:

I know how hard it is. I live in the DC and had a really hard time with it. I was trying to work for NGO's but no matter how many resumes I sent out I never got a responses. I turned to temping it was hard sometimes, but I had three long assignments that eventually led to me being hired.
Just take it easy, but if you have bills try temping because it does get you out there and you will eventually get that break your looking for, and it pays the bills.
