You should call the E.I. office and ask how much you will be eligible to collect after your severance runs out. Typically one doesn't get much severance and then E.I., it's sort of one or the other. You won't technically be employed as most realtors are independent contractors, so you probably can collect whatever E.I. you would be entitled to from your previous job.

Be really careful about dealing with any private, i.e. non-governmetn agencies -- there's a lot of people who will try to sell you a dream, but all they are really interested in doing is taking away your money.
