Creative Employment Agencies

Ellen Said:

How does someone with creative ability but no job connections get into 3-D modeling? Employment agencies?

We Answered:

Get experience in 3-d programs such as Pro-Engineer, Unigraphics, AutoCad, (these are all for engineering based 3D modeling), etc. You might have to take a small course at like IVY Tech or something similar. Most companies help train, but having some experience goes a long way.

This is from an engineering perspective, if you're looking into more of graphics or animations, they're different programs.

Everett Said:

creative way to display really boring statistical information at work...?

We Answered:

What about:
3D bar graphs
3D pie graphs, "exploded" pie graphs
line charts, stacked line charts
scatter graphs
combination bar and line charts
radar chart
Some people like to use the thermometer for $ amts, especially for fundraising.

Depending on what is depicted in the chart, use that as a symbol; e.g. instead of the bars or lines, use people, pictures of buildings to represent businesses...

If you can print in colour, or at least on coloured paper, that would provide some variety.

You could ask some of your co-workers or clients how they might like to see them displayed.

Good luck
