47 yr dad in restaurant biz 30yrs, currently fst food GM seeks to change career w/night & wkend off Any Ideas?

We Answered:

I suggest customer service somewhere, perhaps the power company, phone company, cable company, or even banking. You should have no problem finding a job with a good respectable company, and you have plenty of experience, just had it in a different environment. Good luck!

Beth Said:

I'm a female ex-felon in Dallas ,Tx. in desperate need of employment.?

We Answered:

You know what just came to mind? Chick-fil-A restaurants! I know they are crummy retail, BUT, they are a Christian organization, and should be willing to step up to the plate and at least give you the opportunity to give it a try!

Also, check with area churches. We Christians are suppose to be the FIRST IN LINE to forgive, forget, and welcome the opportunity to help people! Churches have great networking, and members are from wide backgrounds, so there should be some people there who can assist you in contacting someone from their church in the restaurant industry.

I would also show further incentive and resolve to the people who are helping you by offering to attend a local college to sharpen up your skills. The college I work at has a hospitality degree program that teaches cooking as well as management skills (why not go into management?). No need to change careers - just move up the ladder so that you can better support yourself and your family.

*** Always keep it in your heart that GOD does NOT see you as any kind of a felon...he sees you as a Mom struggling to make ends meet. Don't let the doom-sayers get you down. Don't let those who snob you get you down. Don't let the bills get you down.

God is truly in your corner. He loves you. He knows that we humans are full of mistakes and need to be forgiven! Pray on this, Sister, and keep God close to your hip, so that you pray often to Him for his guidance, advice, and comfort. Allow God to lead you where you need to go. Watch because if any doors are closed, God always opens a window....
