Before you can apply for a British passport you need to become a British citizen, as you were not born in the UK, you need to confirm your legal status and entry to this country, which is what the employer is asking basically. Showing your P45, your bank statements, birth certificate does not prove that you are legal and have the right to live and work in the UK, You will also have to take the test now to become a British citizen.

Also, I would ask your parents why they never 'claimed you' and in the process made you a British citizen with them, so could get a passport.

As for getting a passport before Thursday it is not going happen. You have to prove you are eligible first.
