I'm in the exact same boat sweetie. I suffer from anxiety/panic disorder (have for many many years but am only just getting treated now) and I've had to bend over backwards to get Centrelink to understand that I COULDN'T work and to refer me to the right people.I think the reason why people think those who HAVE to live off Centrelink are lazy is because 75% (rough estimate) of those on payments are actually incredibly lazy. I had a housemate who lied to Centrelink for at least 5 years because he didnt want to go to uni or study. He's now 30 years old and living with his brother.
This of course, makes it INCREDIBLY difficult for people like you and me to get the help we deserve and need, because so many fakers try to claim illnesses that cannot really be tested and therefore force centrelink to take the hardline.
