Employment Agencies In Los Angeles

Terry Said:

Will a temp agency be able to find a job for a 39 y/o transwoman with much prof. exp. prior to transition?

We Answered:

In the first place Molly, an employer by law can not inquire of a persons sexual preference(s) in the hiring process nor do they have a right to inquire of a persons sexual orientation. These kind of inquiries are in violation of Federal and State law, unless it has something to do with a mandated security check for a State or Federal position and even then there are certain rules, regulations and codes that the employer must follow.
Next, consider "dumbing down" your resume if you want to go into a support role, you obviously have a lot of experience and most employers will question your motives for a support role position rather than management.
And finally, when a client of mine suggests a temp. agency, this is where I start thinking "outside the box"; we start talking alternative solutions. I counsel my clients not to take that route until all other solutions have been exhausted. Yes Molly, I do work in this arena and yes the discrimination is going to be a factor even though there are laws against it; the "silent discrimination" is the obstacle to overcome.
From what you have said, getting you employed should not be a challenge at all. Good luck in your search and in your life.

Roland Said:

WHERE TO FIND LIST OF EMPLOYERS THAT HIRE? EMPLOYMENT AGENCY, RECRUITERS. BEST WAY TO FIND HR's, CONTRACTING..?

We Answered:

You run an employment agency? Really? You've got to be the worst recruiter I've ever seen.

The way employment agencies make money is to "beat the street". It's your job to call employers, make contact with HR departments, hiring managers, etc. YOU need to do the work. You don't even know what you're doing, and you're making the job seeker pay? That's criminal.

But here are some hints:

-People who hire babysitters are generally middle- and upper-class parents who want someone reliable to watch their child for a few hours. So you need to advertise and find such parents.

-Same with elder care. These are middle-aged adults with parents who need care.

-Security firms hire security guards. Do your research and find these companies.

You really don't know what you are doing, do you? RE: The guard position: They want a resume of a candidate, so they can see what kind of experience the candidate has. DUH! If you're hiring a security guard, you want someone reliable, honest, and most importantly, experienced!

My advice is to get out of that business before you get sued, or arrested. There are penalties for taking client money and not providing a service. It's called FRAUD, and not only are you a Fraud, you're guilty of committing fraud.

Charlie Said:

Can anyone PLEASE help me?!?!?

We Answered:

First, you are like 'heaven-sent angel' of a friend. You went out of the way to help a friend armed with only details of him through a call from a mututal friend. You took him into your home and let him camped in your living room as long as he needs. You put aside the risks and repercusions that may arise from this situation. You are living alone in your one-bedroom apartment and having a male friend camped in your living room.

Now you are worried about how to get him to get up to survive. Aren't you putting yourself into this too deeply? I am really concerned for you. You have done more than any friend would have done without thinking what may arise. You are so concerned that he may take his life and have become too vulnerable and too generous. I seriously think you should not handle this alone. Rope in that mutual friend who called you about this friend, to help. him. You have done more than anyone would have. Better still rope in other friends of his to help, especially male friends.

Take good care of yourself too,
Depwill

Has anyone actually found a job off of monster.com?

We Answered:

I have gotten some email responses in the past from companies that saw me on Monster, but most were the type companies you mentioned, such as American Income. I have applied to many legit job ads on their site though. Unfortunately there are many users on that site so competition is tough.

Can you see, the news just keeps getting BETTER and BETTER??

We Answered:

Sorry, I try not to watch and/or read the news anymore. There is hardly anything ever positive these days to learn about.
