Jimmy Said:

I guess I must have made a mistake - Wrong job search, what can I do now?

We Answered:

Put aside your fears, the employment agency will not feel that they can't trust you. You needn't go into any details, just tell them you need another job. They're making money off of you, by placing you in a job, they get a percentage of your wage, and that makes everybody happy. Don't worry about you seeming failure to keep this job, - its like going into a shoe store, and seeing a pair of shoes that you think you will like, but after wearing them for a week, they're really not as good as you thought, and even uncomfortable. Just trudge on - and try to do as best as you can, and you should always make it a point to ask questions about your duties, and seek feedback. Employees who assume that everything is ok, cause nobody tells them different is on the wrong track. Good Luck!

Farm Relief Employment Services ltd. is a legal agency that can hire a filipino worker to wok in new zealand?

We Answered:

If they are asking for money to be transferred via WESTERN UNION or similar then they are scammers. I have heard of these before - beware xx

Immigration to Canada or New Zealand?

We Answered:

Are you prequalified because you have done the application and interview, or because the agency says so? The reason I ask is that even skilled people can be turned down if there isn't enough demand in their field and it can take more than a year to actually get immigration to Canada completed.

I need advice about employment law in new zealand.?

We Answered:

I worked as a independent contractor for almost 3 years. If I understand this correctly you are doing the same. So as an independent, you get no benefits from the company you are working for, since you are not an employee and many times they will pay more since they are not paying benefits.

But the question is, are you working for an agency or by yourself? In my case, it was an agency and before I was sent out the agency would inform me of my pay that I would be receiving, the expected time I would work for that company etc. Many times my contract with the company would be extended, but my pay stayed the same. I also know that if many of my fellow independent contractors also worked for the same company, we were all paid the same.

If this is an agency that sent you out, then it is up to the agency to tell you why they have now reduced your pay and added hours. They may have re-negotiated your contract with the agency and you may have to accept, or see if they send you somewhere else that will pay you what you are worth.

Granted this is what happened to me in the US, so don't know if this would be the same in NZ.

good luck

Hi moving to New Zealand in?

We Answered:

Try asking in the New Zealand sections, Australians don't have that information.
