However, if you are moving because you hope to start a relationship, you need to discuss it with him and see where he stands before you uproot yourself and end up disappointed.

You are right that only certain industries have access to CORI. I 've been in the employment screening industry for close to 10 years and the only way we have to check for criminal records in MA is to send a researcher to the court in the county where you live to hand search for any records. That said, arrests are never reported to us because they are generally not considered public records. We are given an felony & misdemeanor convictions and pending cases. However, when we get pending cases (which is what yours might be) we advise our customers that they can't use that against a person in a hiring decision. They would have to wait until the case is finalized to discover the outcome.

There are also resources online which allow you to order a copy of your own background check exactly like what I just described in the preceding paragraph. Yahoo Answers rules prevents me from advertising my own site, but if you'd like to know more about that service, just send me a message.
