Any van-driving jobs are also likely to involve heavy lifting. My husband used to work driving a delivery van for a Ford dealer, and some of the parts were really heavy.
I suggest your friend contacts relevant companies direct. Devon is a big country, and you do not say whereabouts he is, or if he can drive lorries. There may be more work there, with milk tankers, or other delivery lorries. I know Tesco usually contract out driving work (have a friend who does it) so he would need to find out who was the local contractor organising the transport.
Another idea may be to contact taxi firms, local garages, undertakers, the agents for big landed estates, any of whom may need chauffeurs.
I don't know personally of any employment websites (have never had the need), and not knowing where he wants to work can't suggest any agencies. If he gets on the BT telephone enquiries website, and plays around with the search criteria, it may give him some agency names in his chosen area, or other firms involved in motoring.

This woman is blackmailing you. If she doesn't get paid then tough.
Stick by your guns regarding your medical situation. If she rings again ask to speak to her supervisor and make a formal complaint about her blackmailing tactics.
If your medical history advises you not to work with machinery then don't be forced into it.

You have no obligation to them or to provide information to them.

Start researching "harassment by collection agencies".

You may have recourse against them if they get "creative".

first off, gas isn't the only cost involved in driving a vehicle. the IRS allows 48.5 cents per mile if using a personal car for a business. the entire cost of the car, all the tires used, oil & filter changes, regular maintenance, etc... plug gas is all involved. so just offering to pay the gas and buy them dinner, they will be loosing money not to mention their time involved to take you where you want to go.

so with all that said, think of hiring someone to use their car to take you someplace, you should pay them 48.5 cents a mile and $5.85 an hour (minimum wage) and let them buy their own dinner if you want to be really fair...

temporary by continuing to look for work. You can also use this time to take a few courses to
learn more skills. Since you are over 18 have you considered a career in the military. If you join you
can also take college courses and the government will pay for them. It is another opportunity that
