They may, from personal experience with those companies, know that it is a bad fit for you. For example, say in your interview that you stated you wanted a fixed, daytime working schedule. They might know that one of the companies you're looking at requires employees to change schedules every week.

It wouldn't hurt to call the company and mention that you saw it and if they feel you'd be a good fit, as long as you're polite.

It seems reasonable that a local office would call in response to an online job application. I would call them back and ask how they got your name and number. If you're satisfied, then definitely make an appointment to fill out an application.
