Brittany Said:

If the State Police called my phone after I applied at a Job that did a County records check, is that why?

We Answered:

No the company ran a background check, the State police picked it up. You gave permission for the check. Since you refused to talk to anyone you will never know what they wanted. No they do not have better things to do then track you down. There is an office fully dedicated to tracking down people.

Ann Said:

Can you tell me why the Police called my phone, and how they got my number?

We Answered:

How on earth do you honestly expect anyone on an Internet forum to divine WHY a police agency (which even you don't know which one) called you?

Maybe it was a wrong number. Maybe it was part of the background check. Maybe you have a warrant. Maybe someone filed a police report alleging something against you. Maybe someone gave your name as a witness to a crime. Maybe someone gave your name as a reference. Maybe it was an old school friend who was trying to find you & called from work. Maybe they were seeking charitable donations. Maybe it was a scam artist. How is anyone here supposed to know?

Brenda Said:

paypal payment to me vs. bank transfer: $1200 from French co. -1st time-which is better?

We Answered:

There are no tax implications either way. I'd use PayPal as there may be fees on both ends for the wire transfer. You can do whatever you with with the money that's sent to PayPal. I just sweep PayPal receipts into my bank account that's tied to my PayPal account.

How the money is paid to you is irrelevant, it's the purpose that matters.

Renting out your home or a room in your home for 14 days or less per year has no tax consequences. You don't report the income or get a deduction for any of your costs.
