Job interview offer dilemma?

We Answered:

I think you're instincts are usually right, and you are probably right about it being shady. Something is not quite right here...or so it seems. Since you have a job right now which pays the bills, I wouldn't leave unless you feel as if your current job is nearing termination for some reason. Did you try researching the company you interviewed at? I've been in a similar situation, and I found out that the job I had been offered was a well known pyramid scheme type of job, there was even a forum about it online. If you could find any information, by searching the company name, phone number, the interviewers name, etc...anything you can do to find out a little background without getting too pushy with the company. If you can find out on your own then thats the only way you're going to get a straight answer. If you think your current job is nearing the end, I would assume that you would be eligible for unemployment benefits...if that is the reason you're seeking new employment. If you quit your current job and then start with this new job, and it goes bad, you aren't going to be able to collect unemployment benefits from your current job. Also I wanted to mention that this interviewer might just not be experienced in interviewing. When I was younger, I was a retail manager and thrown right into interviewing. Even though the company I worked for was credible and I was a good manager, I was not experienced in interviews. I was probably more nervous than the interviewee. I am just saying that the interviewer's conduct isn't necessarily a predictor of what the company will be like, but it is a piece of the puzzle that you're describing and it sounds a little shady. Good luck, just remember...don't burn your bridges. I'm losing my mind looking for a stable job right now because I took a job making a little more money than my previous job, and was laid off 9 months later due to lack of business. Its been over a year and I am still on a temporary layoff.

What are some good ideas for home office space usage?

You need to make sure the house is zoned for commerical use before you get too far in your plans.

Should I go to work for a temp agency?

We Answered:

Ask the temp agency for the exact terms of the contract of employment including hourly rate of pay, how much commission and the duration of the contract. If it is not appealling to you then look for full time work however, I would rather have a temp job and keep looking for full time work in the meantime rather than go on unemployment and risk not getting a job before it runs out.

How come the Republicans buy the "Two Quarters of negative economic growth lie"?

We Answered:

Neoconservatives are afraid of losing their phony benefits.

They know it's all "reaganomic" math -- and will collapse unless their leaders are ripping off Americans and foreign countries like Iraq.
