Employment Agency Tests

Lydia Said:

How did you prepare to take clerical assessment tests at employment agencies?

We Answered:

It really depends on what the agency is looking for. Just take your time and relax. You can practise your typing. Or perhaps google MSWord or Excel evaluations online.

Carolyn Said:

if i failed a drug test through an employment agency can the air force find out?

We Answered:

Well since you never worked for this company, it won't be on your sf-86. So, probably no.

Kimberly Said:

I recently did a typing test at an employment agency and I was told to 'pace myself'. What does that mean

We Answered:

This means to give equal attention to the performance as well as the time. Just as you are supposed to "pace yourself" for a marathon, you shouldn't go all out and run too fast at the start of the race only to lose all your energy at the homestretch. During the typing test, this means you mustn't type too fast at the beginning and commit a lot of errors or lose gas towards the end of the test. Speed plus accuracy is what they're looking for :-), not just one or the other.

Duane Said:

where can i get materials for pre-employment tests for a new employment agency?

Employment Agency Skill Tests?

We Answered:

Depends on the agency. Some agencies only work with upper-crust client companies for office environments.

Others supply work for office jobs (typing, phones, errands), day jobs on projects or retail (like setting up a new store, or preparing for an business event), or even heavy work (landscaping, lifting & moving). These types of companies will test you on anything they can think of, then they'll gear the offered work to your strengths. I would think the better you do on all the tests, the better for you, but in the end we all have strengths and weaknesses...

My dad and his small business hired 4 temps last year to work on balloon decorations for a Chris Rock performance. The job was 2 days. It was fun but it made their fingers blister from tying the balloons shut!
