Hotel Employment Agencies

Rick Said:

Need Employment Advice ASAP?

We Answered:

If you have called H.R. three times I would not recommend you continue calling. Re-read your agreement with your temp. agency. Most of them, when you first sign up, make you sign an agreement that you are not allowed to apply and go to work for a client company like you are trying to do. And the client (the hotel) signs an agreement that they can not hire you without paying the agency a fee to release you. That may be the problem. H.R. would know this as they would have the contract that the hotel signed with the agency in order to use their workers.

Go to a different hotel and apply for a job. One that you have not been sent to work for.

Which Canadian province is best for Hotel workers like housekeeping and room attendant?

We Answered:

I would recommend British Columbia, It is a tourist mecca, and you will probably receive more tips for housekeeping than anywhere else in Canada.
P.S. Cruise ships do not stop in Ottawa, or Toronto.

Priscilla Said:

i applied for this temp agency and to this hotel and im confused in wich one i should take?

We Answered:

Contact the temp agency! They may actually have a job for you. You are just speculating (hoping!) that the hotel job will work out.

Passing a drug test is likely not the only job requirement for the hotel job. Unless you know for sure that you meet all of the hotel's other requirements, don't wait for that job. It may not happen, and then you'll have irritated the temp agency for no good reason.

It may well be a day or two before you would actually be expected to start working for the temp agency client, so get the process started there, in case the hotel job doesn't work out.

If you ending up being offered the hotel job, you can always tell the temp agency that you got a permanent job offer.

Go for it. Contact the temp agency. NOW!

What is the best way to know if the email is scammed or not?

We Answered:

Have you interviewed at this establishment? In today's job market, it's pretty unusual for you to get a flat-out job offer based on an online resume you may or may not have sent.

Even still, I would:
- Check the company's website. Is it vague? Does it list a real address (verified on google maps), and a real phone number?

- Call the phone number. Although some companies that run pyramid schemes do have receptionists and operate under deceptive conditions, listen to your gut here. Ask if you could speak to someone about the job (ie descriptions) prior to an interview.

- Google the company! Often times if companies have a bad rep for legitimacy, someone else on the web will have blogged about it somewhere. Do some investigating!

Hector Said:

employment visa to be send in Philipipnes?

We Answered:

No, absolutely not. You know that Philippine law is very strict about the hiring of OFW's directly by foreign employers. She has to go through a licensed and approved agency.

UK Hotel Job Offer- Is it real or fake?

We Answered:

This is a scam. DO NOT provide them with your bank acount or passport information - these are criminal gangs out to steal your money and your identity

1 - Travel agencies in the UK are not allowed to process work visas. They can only book hotels and travel tickets. All work visas need to be processed directly through the UK Home Office Border Agency or the British Embassy in your country - anything else is a scam
2 - That travel agency is not a registered UK company - it does not exist
3 - The address they provided for the agency does not exist
4 - The scammer is too stupid to know that Manchester is nowhere near London
5 - They are using a free @live.com address rather than a business address
6 - Hotels cannot really sponsor non-EU workers for employment as those jobs are not on the skills shortage list. The ONLY exceptions are for executives already working for the hotel chain in another country and would qualify for the Tier 2 Intercompany Transfer visa - so if you were Sales Director for a Hyatt hotel in your country, you could possibly transfer to a Hyatt hotel in UK if there was an opening
7 - The sponsoring employer always pays the visa processing fees, not the employee

Cut off all correspondence. Fake job scams are a typical Nigerian scam.
