You can't get a better job through employment agencies. They are only there for people who are still searching for employment or want to leave their current position and waiting for the next opprotunity. It isn't all the time they have work. I signed up for 5 agencies and nobody gave me any work expect one. The rate is not that high.minimum is $11-13. It really depends on your experience and skills. The more you have, the more you will earn. You have to get more education to earn that amount or send out resumes to the company that you are interested in working at.

Temp agencies pay weekly and it seems like that you are not making that rate of pay that the recruiter told you. It is best to continuue searching and interviewing until you get a position that pays that high. Good luck

In this economy or any there is no one best company. It is all based on their available jobs they have with their clients and how your experience and skillsets match what those jobs require. Once you get your MBA one firm that comes to mind is Robert Haft. You might check with them to see if they have temp or contract positions your experience may fit. Also a lot has to depend on the area you live and if that company has positions that need to be filled. One other thing you can do is look for part-time positions with small to mid-sized companies. It depends on the size of the company for croporate HR.
A recruiter from an employment agency works with both trying to get companies to work with them and individuals who want to work, so most of them make you call in once a week so they don't have to remember you, you have to remind them to remember you.

If they discriminate against you because of race, sex, race, maybe even sexual orientation, you have a legal right.

but if they discriminate because they don't beleive you willl stay there, or because you have red hair, or because you are too tall, they can do that, since there is no law against it.

Why not just tell them you have talked it over and would plan on staying 5 years. So you leave after 2 it is called lying at the interview, most people always do that when asked how long will you stay. Since you will stay till you get a better job offer or move or something

That's pretty standard. And no, if you got hired by the company you wouldn't get that hourly rate. Companies are willing to pay more for temps because they don't have to pay benefits.

It sounds like you are getting mixed messages. If the call to your agency was due to a specific instance that you may know about then you need to understand what caused HR to place the call, and adjust your behavior accordingly. If you are not sure what made HR call your agency see if you can get specifics about it. My dad was an accountant so I understand all about the conservative environment.
