Human Resources Employment Agencies
Nicole Said:
Does calling human resources to ask about employment opportunities not work anymore? We Answered:
Most cases an employer would rather NOT get phone calls for employment. You get a much better response by turning in (or e-mailing) a copy of your resume. Make sure to do it in a way that it will stick out from the others. I have done HR for the past 3 years and honestly was aggravated each time I got a call "are you hiring". 9 times out of 10 the person on the phone never even came in for their interview and it took time away from completing work to talk with these people. An average call from a person looking for employment is any where from 5-15 minutes. For HR to take every employment call that comes in, it means that they now have no time to do their "daily" work. Better off going in the business in person where usually a receptionist can help with most of you questions.Ramona Said:
I have a personnel/human resources type question for someone who has this expertise.?We Answered:
I agree with you... I think that they are doing this to put distance between you and them. Are most of the jobs at this agency now turning into temp to hire or direct placement instead of just temp? They may be using these terms to make you think that you are expected to take the job you are working at. Perhaps the agency is making more money with temp to hire or direct hires, so they are moving away from temp only jobs.Anna Said:
I need career advice to getting into Human Resources.?We Answered:
human resources can be tricky to get into. it can be alot of work and if you dont know what your doing then its overwhelming at times. companies are less likely to hire you if you have no experiencestarting at the bottom at temp agencies is a good way to build a reputation. this way your brought in slowly and learn alot from watching. as for the pregnancy im due at the end of this month, and honestly a company CANT NOT HIRE you for being pregnant, but if they dont want to deal with a pregnant woman, they will find something else to not hire you for. unfair as it is. its happened to me.
having an mba is a good backup. if you do get hired at a temp agency...i would stay as long as i can. learn as much as you can and that way you have that under belt.
experience and responsibility are good factors to getting hired. if a company thinks you can handle more they will give you moreand you can move us eventually.

Im looking for a office assistant/human resource assistant/office administrator's job.?We Answered:
You and 1000's of other people. Not much in the way of jobs out there. you will probably just have to take what you can find right now.Edgar Said:
Help! Several Answers needed... I have an interview tomorrow and I need questions to ask?We Answered:
I would tell them why you are interested in Human Resources. I would ask specifically what jobs they have at this time that they think would fit you. I would ask them what they offer that going out on your own doesn't offer you. When they ask you about yourself, be honest. Sell yourself. You understand they have to SELL you to a potential employer about how good you are & how qualified you are.
You get to practice on them & then you get to do it again on the employer. I would mention that too. I would ask them for pointers to use when you go for an interview. If you don't make money, neither do they. Look at them as a teacher & tell them that too.
Constance Said:
Which human resource companies should I contact first? We Answered:
There is only one thing that I have ever heard about that could make money from home.It was a lady that went to the local hospital and asked.
She was given data processing.
She went in every day at 3:00pm, dropped off her work, and picked up new work.
Worth considering since there are so many internet scams.
