Insurance Employment Agencies

Eileen Said:

What is unemployment insurance? Is it paid by employer or employee? How will they get it return?

We Answered:

Each state has a state employment (unemployment) office. If you fine yourself unemployed and you meet certain requirements you are entitled to receive an unemployment check. Each state have different guidelines on how much you will receive and the length of time you will be able to receive it (although I think in most cases it is 6 months) GOOD LUCK

Go to your phone book, and call a few local, independent agents to get quotes.

Curtis Said:

Can you apply for EI [employment insurance] after losing a temporary job [agency job]?

We Answered:

you are technically considered an independent contractor.

even though this is not considered permanent employment, most likely they have paid unemployment insurance;

call unemployment and pose the question. a friend of mine told me about a year ago when jobs became slower or none, she applied and received benefits.

working for an agency, you get jobs as they come in. so technically you are still employed, but with the economy as it is, any jobs available maybe few and far between.

you have nothing to lose but time spent on a phone call.

good luck

Where can I get insurance cover for a spending 1 year in Canada on a working visa?

If you're talking about health insurance she will need a Visitors to Canada plan. I don't know if she can get a plan for that amount of time, however the link below will be able to provide more information.

I am trying to purchase workmans comp insurance for the first time, for an Employment Agency estimates anyone?

We Answered:

OK, these are three different policies, you know? Liability is about $1500 for $50,000 in payroll - and that's the MINIMUM premium, so if your payroll goes up, pricing goes up, but pricing will probably never be below $1500.

Workers comp for janitoral - as in contractors (as opposed to building owner) - is about 22% of payroll. I have no idea what disability is, I've never had a business pay for disability coverage for janitors.

Obviously, you're going to have to contact a local agent to get a more specific quote.

Lena Said:

Do employment agencies pay unemployment insurance after you get laid off?

We Answered:

~~You will qualify if you worked and made enough in the previous quarters. The good thing about using an employment agency is they will try and help you find another job asap.

If you have special skills or training also try aerotek. They are a professional staffing agency and are the largest in the country. This means more companies use them and better chances of securing a good paying job.~~
