As this question is under immigration I have to assume that you would have to immigrate. Well, Canada has very long waiting lists for people wanting to immigrate, I mean, unless you qualify under NAFTA, it can take 2 years just to get your application looked at.

If you have a university degree, you may be able to qualify under NAFTA, provided you can find a job that uses the degree you have and then return to USA or Mexico to apply. You can not apply under NAFTA rules while still inside Canada.

Legal assistant positions in Alberta would require a small part of your legal education to have been obtained in Canada, but not necessarily Alberta.

Yes, you must disclose the requested information. If you don't provide it, you can't be employed.

Employer can employ people as he chooses as long as he is not discriminating under EEOC guidelines.

Check on-line with Companies House they should be able to help you. Normally when people request money I feel they are a bit dubious. Good Luck
