Medical Employment Agency

Terry Said:

Is an employer legally required to confirm employment to a Collection Agency?

We Answered:

If you get a court approved garnishment then you do not have a choice but to comply with the terms of that garnishment. As far as phone calls to verify employment, handle them the same way you would handle all calls for this. Have them send you a signed authorization release for the person they are asking about to release information about their employment and you will be happy to answer their questions. If your company policy is to only accept these inquiries via fax or by mail then hold that policy in the same way. Tell them only by fax or mail and you will respond the same way, by fax or by mail.

Collection agencies harass employers because they want you to go to your employees and ask them to contact the vendors and to stop calling your business. Our company tells the vendors what the policy is for employment verification, if they continue to call after you tell them that then you just let them know you are going to report their company for illegal collection activities.

Aaron Said:

I like to know is it wrong for me to do this. I was about to work with the agency in a month to help look for?

We Answered:

The employment agency will be happy to find out that you found a job. No matter how you got it, its a successful end to their program. You have to think about you and your dependents. Change won't come if you keep doing the same things. Claim your success and follow your heart. Take care of who is most important - YOU!! Good luck with everything. I know it will work out for the better and you will do the right thing.

Remember - Life isn't about how many breathes you take but the moments that take your breath away. Go after those moments - try new things.
