Mystery Shopper Employment Agency

Timothy Said:

mystery shopper employment agency?

We Answered:

It's very easy to tell is a company is a scam or not
1 - Legitimate mystery shopping companies NEVER make you pay to join or to find out about assignments. It's always free to register with any company
2 -- Legitimate mystery shopping companies NEVER send you money before you shop and NEVER ask you to send money to someone through Western Union or Moneygram for any reason. You always pay your own money out of pocket on any shop and don't get reimbursed until 30 days AFTER you mail in your evaluation form. Even if there were some mystery shop with Western Union, you would be asked to send a nominal amount like $10 to your husband or sister or mother, then submit the receipt to be reimbursed

Also with any agency I've worked with, I've had to go in to the office to register in person, fill out an application form, show ID to prove I can legally work, and attend a short orientation session that shows you how to fill out the form, what makes a successful shop, what to do if someone suspects you of being a mystery shopper, what will disqualify your evaluation so you won't get paid, etc, etc, etc

Floyd Said:

Anyone heard of Mystery Shopper Employment Agency. They want £34 to join to get you work.?

We Answered:

Scam. Do not trust anyone who wants money up front. When someone says "I will get you a job in the future if you pay me money now" you know you are dealing with a con artist.

Kathleen Said:

What would be the proper government agency to report this crime to?

We Answered:

Report it to your postmaster. That is mail fraud. Also, report it to your State Attorney General, he may be able to prosecute.

mystery shopper jobs?

I've done it. Some assignments are worth while, some are not. I used to go to banks or grocery stores, but the pay was so little compared to the time spent. However, I've had a lot of luck doing mystery shops for restaurants and oil change places. They don't pay, but the dinner or oil change is free. Dinner is usually for two and sometimes includes an alcoholic drink. The tab is generally around $40. And getting a free oil change is always nice. Generally, you would need a car, or would need to live somewhere with good public transportation.

You normally don't get paid or maybe £10-15 maximum. For restaurants they reimburse you the cost of the meal up to a set amount, for stores they sometime reimburse you up to a £20-25 purchase. Be careful because most of the mystery shopping jobs on Gumtree are scammers. You can google market research firms to find legitimate agencies but they dont normally call the same people more than a few times a year. You have to meet the demographics for each job so they might look for 50 year old white women making less than £30k per year or young people of any race or sex under age 25 who are full time students. I did mystery shopping thru a company called TNS Global
