New York Employment Agencies

Claude Said:

How much does an entry level executive recruiter make?

We Answered:

Do not plan on making $35,000 you first year.

It will take several years for you to make contacts and build clientele. Most executive recruiters don make it through their first year. It is worse than real-estate.

It can be a good career but do it because you want to help people succeed not for the money. If you are sincere, the money will come.

Erin Said:

Would a psychic, intuitive reader ONLY who could please answer my question?

We Answered:

First of all I don't trust anyone who says that too much information is interrupting. I found that your lack of information about the employment agency based in Florida made it hard to read their plans. However, here goes:

Honeywell is negative. They really didn't want to open this position but something went wrong, something to do with money. There's too much in one place.

This employment agency, you want it more than Honeywell anyways (or someone near you does) . Go for it. I have a feeling there is a positive outcome here.

However, the sense of hesitancy may cost you an opportunity to make some positive change in your life that will literally come knocking on your door.

I know that it's all very vague but there was only so much I could do from across a computer.

A collector called my place of employment and forgot the mini miranda warning?

We Answered:

They CAN contact you at work, they just can't discuss your "issue" with your superior or co-workers. As far as a "mini-miranda" as you describe it, they've probably been sending collection letters for months. (They generally do) and you are given that warning multiple times prior to the phone call. Probably not sufficient to allow you to recover under the FDCPA. Small claims them. The max recovery is 1,000.00 per occurrence anyway, so it should be well within the jurisdiction of the court. That way you don't unload more on attorney's fees than on the debt itself. (Which if you owe it, pay it and be done with these scumbags.)

Stella Said:

What happens when I do not respond to a credit card judgment debt?

We Answered:

If they currently have a judgment, it won't end soon - sorry

From your comment, I don't know if you still live in New York or in another state, but in New York judgments last 20 years (with a 10 year renewable lien) Which means they can wait a very long time for you to get a job or to purchase something that is allowable to place a lien on.

If you live in another state and the bank account is in that state, they would probably have to domesticate the judgment to that state before they can freeze the bank account. If they didn't, they may be held accountable for that action.

If you defaulted in 2002, you would have still been within the legal collecting SOL on the amount they sued for. The collecting SOL in NY is 6 years.

As far as speaking with your neighbors, that would depend on the extent of the conversation. They can ask the neighbors if they know you, if they know your phone number, etc. They can't say why.
As for the landlord, like the previous poster said, you would have to check the statutes on it. I'm just guessing, but if it's for the judgment, they may be able to.
If it's for an account that a suit "was not" filed on, then no - they can't.

It's possible that you could petition the court to waive the bank account freezing under hardship. But, time is limited so act fast.

You might call Legal Aid and see if they will help you in writing up the hardship petition, etc.

If they have set up an asset hearing, you have to go. Not going would be considered contempt of court.

I am not a big bankruptcy fan and rarely bring it up, but in some cases I do support it. It might be an option that you may want to think about.

Can a temp agency hire independent contractors rather than employees &remain exempt from having tobe licensed?

We Answered:

The question is self explanatory.

Being a temporary agency, they cannot hire independent contractors (who would not give temporary service)!!!

Discuss It!
