Non Profit Employment Agencies

Erik Said:

What are the chances of achieving government/non-profit employment with multiple misdemeanors on my record?

We Answered:

It's more important that you not lie on the investigation form than that you actually have a record. If you check "no" when it asks if you were ever arrested, and they find out about the arrests, as they surely will, then it will block you. If you check "yes" and put the details of the arrests in the appropriate space, then your background check will be judged acceptable or not acceptable, depending on the job you're trying for or have started. I should think that any kind of violent, theft, fraud, or sex crime would have far more impact than graffiti.

Bruce Said:

What should I name my non-profit agency?

Looking for an employment attorney, no upfront fees & not afraid of a little work. In TN?

We Answered:

Sorry to say it, but if your state is anything like NY, you are not likely to find an employment attorney to work with no upfront fees.

Seth Said:

Goodwill or Salvation Army for employment?

We Answered:

The salvos are strict, and they are an army.

Goodwill is a charity, and not an army as such.

The salvos have a band, but you can't drink alcohol.

Goodwill has a great sounding name.

Joan Said:

Where can I go to find out about non-profit agencies and their locations. I want to apply for employment?

We Answered:

http://www.ideallist.org lists thousands of nonprofit agencies, and has an active database of open positions you can search.

Otherwise, you can look in your phone book to find agencies that are local to you.
