Best locations to live are plenty. I don't know what you consider being best. Will your wife have a car? Do you have school kids? Don't be bothered by the accommodation question before you have a job. It's necessary to negotiate a salary "package" including basic salary + housing + transportation. Some companies offer a lump sum as housing allowance whereas others provide accommodation. Cross that bridge when you get there. Depending where you may find a job, you may be located in Ruwais, around 240 km west of Abu Dhabi close to your work.

I am sure they have offered you a nice salary @ 8000 GBP/month.
Please note that even a MD with FRCP or MRCP done in UK is not getting this much salary.
I have been this oil industry for last 18 years and never heard this company name.

The main operating oil company in UK is BP, Mobil etc.

You can ask them to provide their registration no. What they do? Are the offshore onshore. If it is client side then what is their product. Oil name (ISO VG grade).Where they sold it?

I they are consultant then which job they have completed. Which country?
If they claim that they are doing this first time. Then fake.
I am sure somebody from their end if goes though my answer then their will be series of answer to justify from their end.

But please keep in mind that 100% work-permit, VISA shall be client. At any case donot pay any thing to unknown. I think you are wise, and must be reading newspaper. If not read carefully all pages.
