Part Time Job Agency

Roberto Said:

If you're a member of a job agency, but also have a permanent part-time job, would you be breaking the law?

We Answered:

It's not exactly breaking the law, but you do need to check your contract of employment to see if it forbids this. Some companies require that you don't have a second job, or will let you have one but require you to tell them about it, in case there are a conflict of interests.

Also, there are tax implications. A person's rate of tax is determined by how much they earn from ALL sources over the tax year. If you're open with your employer then they can ensure that you're stopped tax at the correct rate in the first place, saving you the need to pay the tax man a hefty sum when you complete your tax return.

Nicole Said:

Is it feasible to work one full-time plus a part-time job for a temp agency with two different clients?

We Answered:

Technically, yes, but if both clients outsource work to the temp agency (and the temp agency is the one paying you), then if you were to work both jobs, they would have to pay you time and a half. Which is probably why they denied you the second job, most places do not like paying time and a half (unless they absolutely need you to work that much). Even though the clients are separate (and billed separately), your paycheck would still come from the same place (the temp agency), which is why they would have to pay you overtime. Even if the clients are in different states.

Best job agency / website to look for "a part time" job?

We Answered:

Monster.com is really good. They're usually fast in calling you once you apply as well. As long as you have a resume you can send or upload then you should be fine. Another one is careerbuilders.com

Bradley Said:

do you recommend using a temporary job agency to find a part time job whille i'm attending college?

We Answered:

Temp. agencies are paid by the customer who orders people from them, not from the employees. Basically, if you can find a part time job on your own that will work with your school schedule it's better for you to do that. But you can try using an agency as well as looking on your own. It'll help with getting a job during school breaks if you have already worked with an agency before.

Any reputable staff agencies specialize (a part time job) in retailing ?

We Answered:

I work full time in River Island, a clothing retail company. It is very reputable and has stores all over the world. Many of the staff in my store (Cardiff, South Wales) are on part time contracts. It is indeed a very good company to work for. Good money and good progression opportunities. You can search for vacancies on the website. www.riverisland.com :)

What's a good part time job while just getting started in real estate?

We Answered:

National Guard/ Reserve

Telephone services, not to be confused with telemarketing. Tele-services provides customer support on a contract basis. An example might be making a reservation on Expedia.com, and then calling their customer support number to change your reservation. The individual who answers is not an Expedia.com employee, they are a contracted tele-services company employee.

Teaching as a substitute or college instructor.

But seriously, why leave Lowe's for a real estate job? Their turnover is much higher (that's a hint) and the probability of promotion is non-existent. The only way to get a raise is to raise the selling price. Hmmm, I think I just hit on something.
