Old White Men Need Not Apply--What do you do when you have been discriminated against in public employment?

We Answered:

How did you learn that the other candidate did not meet the minimum qualifications? Are you making assumptions about that person? The other person have had something you didn't. Unless you can prove the choice was solely because of their race, you won't have a case.

To succeed in such a lawsuit, you would have to prove that it was your age or gender or race or ethnicity that was the only reason you were not hired. If you can PROVE it, not just based on things you've heard, then contact the EEOC>

The person who claims reverse discrimination has been embraced by the courts doesn't know what they are talking about and doesn't understand the court system. The just recently overturned the case of firefighters who passed a promotion test but didn't get promoted because they are white.

If you want to face true discrimination, try being a female. Lots of irrational discrimination there. Funny how the old white guys are whining about treated like women and minorities have been treated for generations. DIdn't give a crap when it wasn't your ox being gored.

Would careerbuilder.com, or any other employment websites be considered as an agency?

We Answered:

I work for a student loan company and do this every day, and yes in terms of qualifying for an unemployment deferment it is. One of my specific questions I ask people when trying to qualify them is if they are registered with any employment agency such as Monster, Career Builder, Hotjobs, etc. So yes, it will work. And BTW they don't require proof or check up on it anyways ;)
